Our Pastors

Our pastoral leadership takes the responsibility of shepherding God's church seriously and places their lives and teaching under the authority of God's word.

  • Jonathan Scott

    South Park Campus Pastor

    Jonathan Scott was born in Manhattan New York but grew up in a very strong Christian home in Freeport, Grand Bahamas and then Miami Florida. He graduated from Gardner-Webb College, Boiling Springs NC in 1984 with a BA in Religion and then received his MDiv in 1987 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth Texas. During these times he served as a concert artist, itinerant preacher and worship leader, youth intern, and interim pastor in several churches in NC, SC, TX, OK, ARK and FL, until his full time position as Youth and College Minister and later Discipleship and Singles Pastor at his home church of University Baptist Church in Coral Gables FL for 12 years. In 1999 he relocated his family to serve as the Singles Pastor at Calvary Church, NC and then later as Pastor of Maturation/Discipleship and Singles. In 2007 he came on staff at Forest Hill Church to serve as a Lifegroup Director but then took on the role of Pastor of Worship and Arts. He has currently served as the Campus Pastor for South Park since 2013. Kathleen, his wife for 30 years passed away January, 2018. He has 2 children, Nathan and Christine, and a Siberian Husky, Maximus!

  • Mike Boulware

    Waxhaw Campus Pastor

    Mike Boulware was born in Lakeland Florida where he grew up the youngest of 3 boys. He responded to the call of Jesus Christ as a young child. His undergrauate education includes a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in psychology from Presbyterian College, Clinton South Carolina. He also received a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary, Charlotte, North Carolina.As an ordained pastor he has served as the pastoral care pastor at Mandarin Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, Florida, and in numerous leadership roles the last 15 years at Forest Hill Church. His passion in ministry is to love people and equip others to do the same so that the Gospel might be known and cause deep transformation in people. Mike is married to his high school sweetheart Andrea. They have two children, Ashley and Chase. He enjoys going on dates with his wife, playing with his kids, working in his yard and watching a good science fiction movie.

  • Jonathan Matos

    South Boulevard Campus Pastor

    Jonathan Matos was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and grew up there and in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. He moved to South Carolina in 2002 where he attended Erskine College and later began a career in finance and banking.He spent 10 years specializing in turning around underperforming Banking Centers, Leadership Development, Organizational Process and Sales Flow improvement. Jonathan felt the call to ministry in 2013 and began focusing on adult discipleship and small groups at Forest Hill Church. His graduate studies at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary are in the areas of Religion and Counseling. He is now the Campus Pastor for Forest Hill’s S. Blvd Campus –the only multi-lingual campus in their six-campus network. Jonathan is married to Stephanie and has four daughters.

  • Gentry Eddings

    Ballantyne Campus Pastor

    Gentry Eddings grew up in Wheaton, IL and believed in Jesus at a young age. His parents faith has been a great example and inspiration. In 2007, he began pursuing theological education and ministry in the local church. He graduated in 2010 from Southern Evangelical Bible College with a B.A. in Religious Studies, and in 2015 from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a M.A. in Christian Thought. Gentry and Hadley Eddings were married May 23, 2009. On May 23, 2015 they were in a tragic car accident that took the lives of their two sons, Dobbs and Reed. Their faith and hope in Christ has carried them in the midst of great loss. They now have twin boys, Isaiah and Amos, who were born on July 10, 2017.
