Eight Habits

At Forest Hill, we are convinced that the lives of Jesus followers should look different than the lives we see all around us. We believe the Eight Habits listed below — one of which emphasizes living in community — are markers of the Christian life.

8
Habits
  • 1
Abide daily with Jesus in prayer and the Word
  • 2
    Worship weekly
  • 3
    Use your gifts
  • 4
Live life authentically with other believers
  • 5
    Practice generosity
  • 6
    Honor your family
  • 7
    Serve the least
  • 8
    Reach the lost
  • One way you can start to practice these habits is by using RightNow Media for you, your group, and your whole family.

RightNow Media is like the “Netflix of Video Bible Studies” that you can access whenever and wherever you want—on your phone, iPad, computer, or at home on your TV. For access to the videos below, and over 15,000 other faith-based videos, please create a FREE account first.

    Baptism

Believers’ Baptism is one of the first steps of obedience for new believers seeking to live a life of devotion to God. At Forest Hill, we practice a full-submersion baptism for those who profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Check out our video, what happens when we accept Christ and are baptized, [Video 9] on RightNow Media (create a FREE account first) for more information.

If you’re ready to be baptized, you can register for the next class at your campus. If you’re still not sure and you’d like to have a one-on-one conversation about baptism, we look forward to hearing from you.

    Membership

Think of membership as putting your flag in the ground at Forest Hill – as saying, “This is home. This is where I belong. These are my people.“

Becoming a member means making a covenant—a sacred promise to God and your church family—to support Forest Hill Church and its mission and vision. Know that we make this same commitment—to support you as you grow in faith and relationship with Christ in authentic community.

To pursue membership, we require that you:

    • Attend Steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 of The it Experience
    • Have made a public statement of faith in Jesus Christ
    • Have been baptized by any Christian Church
    • Submit to the spiritual authority of Forest Hill Church

If you’re ready to be become a member, watch our membership videos RightNow Media (create a FREE account  first), and show up to Step 4 at your campus. If you’re still not sure and you’d like to have a one-on-one conversation about membership, we look forward to hearing from you.

    Real community

We believe deeply in the power of personal connection and the way it propels us to grow deeper in our relationships with others and in our relationship with Jesus.

There are a number of opportunities to connect to real community at Forest Hill.

    LifeGroups

LifeGroups are the primary way that Adults grow in relationship with God and each other at Forest Hill Church. They are small groups of people who get together on a regular basis to:

Enjoy authentic friendships with one another
Study the Bible and grow in relationship with God
    Serve together in our community

    Short-term Groups

Short-Term Groups are topical group environments designed to connect you to the practical application of the Gospel in your life

    Care & Counseling

Every now and then, we all need the help of someone who can look at our circumstances objectively and coach us toward seeing them through an eternal lens. The team at our Care & Counseling center does just that.
